Campervan hire in Exmouth

Collect from Exmouth, Western Australia. This page covers where the depot is, when it is open and what is worth driving to first.

Picking up in Exmouth

Exmouth is a small town on the North West Cape, and the depot on Maley Street is in the middle of it. Ningaloo Reef is the reason to be here, and the reef is reached from the cape road rather than from a boat ramp in town, so a vehicle with some clearance makes the beach access tracks easier.

Maley Street is a short drive from Learmonth Airport and the town centre, with the Cape Range road running north to the reef access points and the Minilya-Exmouth Road running south to the North West Coastal Highway.

Collection happens during the hours listed here, with a walk-around of the vehicle before you drive out so you know where the cooker, water and bedding are. If your flight lands late in the day, say so when you book rather than arriving after the desk closes. After hours collection may be available on request, but it has to be arranged in advance.

What to do first from Exmouth

The first night usually decides the shape of a trip: too far and you are driving tired, too close and you have spent a day going nowhere. These are the directions worth considering straight out of Exmouth.

  • Ningaloo Reef and Turquoise Bay
  • Cape Range National Park and Yardie Creek
  • Coral Bay on the run south

Driving out of Exmouth

Fuel and food are the two things to sort before you leave town. Fill the tank at the last major town on your route rather than assuming the next one is close, and carry more water than you think you need if the drive heads inland. Mobile coverage thins quickly once you are outside the suburbs.

The depot's own page on the booking site carries the map and the operator's current terms: see campervan hire in Exmouth.
